About Melissa
Melissa Dennett has worked with some great horse men and women including her parents, who were both jockeys in her homeland of New Zealand. Melissa moved to Australia as 15 year old and worked, with her parents, in the legendary stables at Tulloch Lodge with Gai Waterhouse.
She started out by mucking out boxes and quickly moved to a track work rider when Gai realised she had so much more to offer. Melissa has since spent 12 years with Leon Davies Racing in Tamworth and with so much knowledge and experience from the best in the business he has now taken the big leap and gone out on her own.
Melissa’s stables are set up on course at Tamworth where they have use of the course proper, a sand track and a trotting trotting track . There are also sand rolls and a swimming pool that is used for both fitness and rehabilitation.
Melissa is young, enthusiastic and keen to make her mark in NSW and the Australian racing scene.
